What is the PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2023?

The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, or PMSS, offers financial aid for higher professional and technical courses to dependent heirs or widows of former Coast Guard members, ex-servicemen, or deceased defense employees. The kind of courses that the applicants select will determine how long this scholarship lasts. The AICTE/UGC shall oversee the technical and professional courses that are required to be offered. Any other courses are completely rejected and do not qualify. Only MBA and MCA postgraduate studies are eligible for this scholarship. The Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) is in charge of overseeing the PMSS Scholarship Scheme and all of its associated documents, forms, and guidelines. Eligibility for the Prime Minister (PM) Scholarship Program

  • must have received at least a 60% on the diploma, graduation exam, or 12th grade.
  • Eligibility is limited to students enrolled in their first year of technical or professional education.
  • The college or institution where the student is enrolled must be approved by the AICTE/UGC for full-time courses.
  • Students who are deceased people’s wards, dependents of ESM, or former Coast Guard employees are qualified.
  • With the exception of lateral entry and integrated courses, students who are in their second year are not eligible.
  • International students are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship Amount of the PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS)

A total of 5500 students are selected for the PM Scholarships each year. There are equal numbers of scholarships available for boys and girls. Typically, a merit list is used to choose the recipients of this scholarship. Boys receive Rs. 2500 per month and selected girls receive Rs. 3000 per month, or Rs. 36,000 and Rs. 30,000 annually, respectively. Students may get this award for up to five years, depending on how long they want to pursue this particular study. Every year when they enroll for the following semester, they have to renew the scholarship.
